In the process of refocusing the Institute of Mathematics, the Faculty of Mathematics/Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering of Clausthal University of Technology invites applications for professorship (to be filled as soon as possible):
University Professor (W2/W3)
“Mathematical Modelling”
The research of the candidate should focus on the development and
analysis of mathematical models, including (partial) differential
equations. It should also address the well-posedness and stability
of models.
For the professorship
“Mathematical Modelling” the classification according to W2 or W3 is not fixed a priori. The job advertisement addresses junior as well as experienced applicants. The salary will depend on the level of experience and scientific potential of the successful applicant.
We are looking for internationally renowned persons with a research area complementing the research conducted at the Institute of Mathematics. The successful candidate should actively participate in the further development of the research profile of Clausthal University of Technology. He or she should promote the cooperation between mathematics and natural sciences, engineering, computer science and economics.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the degree program “Applied Mathematics”, by taking responsibilities for basic mathematical education, teaching at masters level, as well as teaching courses as service for other disciplines.
