The
Laboratory for Sustainability in Technology and the
Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at
Bochum University of Applied Sciences has a vacancy for a
Research Assistant at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences (f/m/d) for the EU project “SEED Sustainable Energy Education”
to fill.
Project Description:
The challenges of the energy transition are evolving rapidly, with high demand for digital and green technologies. The solutions are not yet clearly defined, and existing technologies are constantly evolving. These tasks and challenges require well-trained students, professionals and workers. Vocational education has a great responsibility as an engine for innovation and growth and for flexible adaptation to climate change. In addition, the shortage of skilled workers forces us to develop new ways of working and training.
SEED aims to prepare learners, students and professionals with skills and competencies for the future and to develop work- based education. To this end, the pan-European project consortium will establish an international learning community and learning centers in the five partner regions in the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Greece and Germany.
The result is a growing regional collaboration on vocational excellence in five regions and a jointly implemented vision for regional and transnational learning that effectively promotes renewable energy education and further advances the Europe-wide energy transition.
Tasks/Activities:
- Research of Europe-wide good practices in the field of education for a "post-fossil industrial society"
- Publications on the topic of education for renewable energies and regional development in relation to offered educational options
- Scientific contributions to conferences in a Europe-wide context for sharing the project vision and gaining new knowledge
- Planning and implementation of pilot projects in a Europe-wide context on projects in the field of education for sustainable energy
- Conducting a skill sharing workshop in which previous project results are reviewed and shared
- Project management and communication with international project partners and stakeholders
- Establishment of structures at the Laboratory for Sustainability in Technology and readiness to take over coordinating activities
Requirements:
- Scientific university degree
- Excellent structured working method and analytical-conceptual skills
- Experience in project management
- Strong communication skills
- Very good command of English
- Interest in the implementation of international third-party funded projects
- Willingness to travel within Europe to project partners is required (1–2 trips per year)
- Interest in doctoral studies is desirable
