The German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) e.V. was established in 2017 as a non-university research institute in the field of integration, migration, and conflict studies, as well as discrimination and racism. The DeZIM Institute receives funding from the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and seeks to combine excellent academic research with evidence-based policy advice.
The migration department predominantly conducts research on international migration to Europe/Germany but also covers other regions, particularly the MENA region. The department studies migration processes from various angles: These include mobility aspirations and capabilities or processes leading to migration decisions, legal categories of migration, its criminalization and the resulting social phenomena, governance of mobility and border policies, and consequences of migration for social change. Research in the department is multidisciplinary and makes use of both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Further requirements for a successful application: You have relevant research experience, are well networked academically and in civil society, and have experience in preparing scientific results for politics, the media, and the general public.
The position is limited for two years with the possibility of extension within the limits of the WissZeitVG. Remuneration is in accordance with pay group E13 TVöD (federal government). The positions can be filled on a part-time or full-time basis. The place of employment is Berlin.
