- talented and motivated applicants with a strong interest in Economic Theory and Policy, Industrial Organization, Behavioural Economics, International Economics, Empirical Economics or Econometrics
- very good knowledge of theoretical and empirical economic methods and
- an excellent command of the English language
Our offer
The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant, up to pay grade 13 TV-L. Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf aims at increasing the percentage of female employees. The employment is initially limited to a period of 2 years with an option for prolongation by two additional years if the applicant reaches the targets agreed upon with his/her supervisor during the hiring process. It is a qualification position in the sense of the Act on Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Academia (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG), which is to promote the scientific qualification of the employee. The qualification target of this position is a PhD.
The DGSE’s specific focus on Competition Economics and Regulatory Issues in research and teaching and the close links of DICE to competition policy practice provide an excellent platform for the education of doctoral students. Besides Competition Economics and Policy, we supervise other research topics in Applied Microeconomics, such as Behavioural Economics, Experimental Economics, International Economics and Econometrics. Doctoral students participate in courses and seminars which focus on the topics of the graduate programme.
