The Cluster of Excellence 3099 “GreenRobust” investigates the robustness mechanisms of various plant species at all levels of biological organisation in response to biotic and climatic disturbances. Within the cluster, various research teams from the Universities of Tübingen, Hohenheim and Heidelberg will collaborate. In this context, Heidelberg University is seeking to fill the following full-time (39,5 hours/week) position, limited to the duration of the cluster (until 31.12.2032), starting at the next possible date:
Scientific coordinator at the GreenRobust location Heidelberg (f/m/d)
Your tasks:
- Coordination of the research activities of the cluster research teams in Heidelberg and the other two locations, in particular with the main cluster coordination office at Tübingen University
- Support of the Heidelberg cluster spokesperson in all matters to pursue the scientific aims of the cluster
- Driving the scientific and structural development of the cluster
- Coordination of the finances and personnel at the Heidelberg location including set-up and management of cluster-internal funding schemes
- Organisation of the cluster committee meetings, scientific workshops, conferences and meetings with the international scientific advisory board also in terms of content
- Contribution to the regular reporting duties together with the main cluster office in Tübingen and the cluster spokespersons
- Coordination of the research-oriented teaching activities of cluster members in Heidelberg also in terms of content and development of cluster-focussed teaching offers
- Supervision of personnel management, the local cluster management office and daily administrative routines
- Acting as liaison between researchers, university administration and the cluster partners
- Acting as diversity manager for all cluster teams and locations
- Conceiving a diversity strategy in close collaboration with the Unit for Family, Diversity & Equality (Unify) of Heidelberg University and the other two cluster locations
- Contribution to outreach activities of the cluster
- Support of the generalization and dissemination of scientific concepts revealed by cluster members
- Critical monitoring of cluster-related research activities
Your profile:
- Completed scientific university degree (Master’s or university diploma) and doctorate preferably in biology, agricultural sciences, or a related natural science discipline
- Postdoctoral and international experience is highly desirable
- Experience in the management and coordination of (interdisciplinary) research projects is highly desirable
- Strong strategic mindset and demonstrated ability for proactive and solution-oriented approaches
- Experience in teaching and development of teaching programs can be of advantage
- Working effectively both in an independent manner and as part of a diverse, collaborative team
- High level of communication skills and reliability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English language

The position is generally divisible and remunerated according to TV-L.
