“A place where knowledge is created” – As a leading business university we set global standards for research and teaching by promoting integrative thought, responsible action and an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation in business and society.
We are seeking a colleague with a proven expertise in management and a strong commitment to the development and coordination of business education, in particular the large-scale courses in our bachelor’s program. Emphasis should be placed on one or more of the following aspects: design and implementation of innovative digital solutions, coordination of complex teaching settings, and the integration of research-based insights into education.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to the Assessment Year, one of the university’s most important study phases with more than 2,000 students annually. This includes delivering large-scale lectures in German and English and ensuring a strong academic bridge to the bachelor’s program in Business Administration (BBWL). We expect the candidate to also teach at other levels (BA, MA, PhD and Executive Education).
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a doctoral degree in management or a closely related field and an excellent track record in research and teaching. We expect a candidate to have potential in publishing articles in top-level journals, influential books, or conferences and to have established close relationships with the relevant research and executive communities. Experience in the fields of executive education and acquisition of third-party funding are important advantages. Outstanding leadership skills, scholarly commitment and fundraising are additional requirements.
According to our claim “From insight to impact”, the future colleague should convey scientific knowledge to students and have a significant impact on theory and practice. The senior lecturer strengthens HSG’s international reputation and ensure continuity in the Assessment Year and bachelor’s program.
The teaching languages are German and English. It is expected that candidates are able to teach in one language immediately and in the other within two years. The University of St.Gallen is committed to promoting equal opportunities and an inclusive working culture. We explicitly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply. We offer dual-career and welcome services for newly appointed faculty (and their families).
We seek to fill the position as of 1 August 2026 or by mutual agreement. For further information, please contact Professor Dr. Björn Ambos, Dean of the School of Management and Chairman of the Appointment Committee (facultyposition@unisg.ch).
The application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching portfolio, link to a 10 minutes teaching video for teaching in the first year Bachelor (topic: industry analysis), list of publications, identification of two publications that best represent your current research and contact information for two professional references - who may have collaborated with you - that we may contact if shortlisted for the position.
Candidates should submit their application to the President of the University of St.Gallen, Professor Dr. Manuel Ammann, online via www.unisg.ch/professorships at the latest by 23 November 2025. Research talks are expected to take place on 16 January 2026.
