starting ideally on 01 May 2026 (full time / part time options available)
We are looking for an internationally recognized zoologist with an excellent research record in integrative taxonomy, systematics, morphology, evolutionary, and/or ecological research on vertebrates and/or invertebrates.
The position includes responsibility for and oversight over the permanent scientific and teaching collections. The ideal candidate will apply modern and innovative approaches to unlock scientific information from museum specimens, e.g. through imaging and/or molecular analyses. The proposed research program should complement the overall research portfolio of the Institute for Evolution and Ecology (https://uni-tuebingen.de/en/441), which hosts the Zoological Collection.
The future incumbent will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in vertebrate and invertebrate anatomy, morphology, evolution and species identification, with a regular teaching load of 9 SWS (9 contact hours per week). Teaching will include excursions or field courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent degree, postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience, as well as experience in working with museum collections and corresponding databases. The candidate should have a documented track record in acquiring external research funding and in collaborative research.
