Join the new International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Functional Material Design in Summer 2027!
We are recruiting doctoral candidates to help shape a resource-efficient future. The candidates will work on individual projects exploring how we can learn from nature to create sustainable materials.
Our community
The IMPRS brings together leading researchers from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces and partner universities across the Berlin-Potsdam research area. This includes the University of Potsdam, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin.
As a doctoral candidate, you will work in a lively and open interdisciplinary environment spanning physics, chemistry, materials science, and biology.
Who are we looking for?
- Students holding an MSc or equivalent degree in any natural science, especially physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, may find a suitable project for their doctoral studies.
- Outstanding curricula and curious people, willing to learn in a multidisciplinary environment are welcome!
- People open to making progress in science in an exciting multicultural environment.
