Your personal sphere of influence:
We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Prae Doc (PhD student) for 4 years at the Institute of Biological Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry. Your position is at the AG Kurzbach, which works on the development of unconventional magnetic resonance methods, including dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization, EPR, as well as NMR spectroscopy.
As part of our divers team, you will be tasked with the development of intermolecular paramagnetic relaxation enhancement methods to be coupled to model-free analysis of molecular dynamics simulations. This includes work in the biochemical wet-lab as well as with prototype NMR spectroscopy and computational tasks. You have previous knowledge in the area of NMR Spectroscopy and dissolution DNP.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of NMR Spectroscopy, Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Hyperpolarization.
- Carry out experiments, compute data processing pipelines.
- We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You work on your dissertation and its completion.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field of Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Physics or a related field
- Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods (e.g.)
- Didactic competences / experience with e-learning
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level)
- IT user skills, knowledge of Office
- Knowledge in the area of NMR spectroscopy and dissolution DNP
- You should be a team player with high social skills

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3.714,80 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience.
Contract: The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
