Professorship
for “Diagnostic Imaging”

in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Universities Act.
Field of activity
The professorship is affiliated to the Clinical Centre for Small Animal Health and Research and is intended to focus on research, teaching, continuing education and clinical services with Diagnostic Imaging. The aim is to strengthen Vetmeduni's role as a motor for innovation and transformation according to the university's development plan. State-of-the-art facilities are available for this purpose. Vetmeduni is equipped with a comprehensive technology platform for diagnostic imaging. The equipment includes a 3 Tesla MRI system, a 128-slice spectral CT scanner, several digital radiography systems, ultrasound units, stationary and mobile fluoroscopy systems, and an extensive PACS infrastructure. This infrastructure enables a detailed visualization of anatomical, cellular, and molecular structures and processes. The central task of the professor to be appointed is to further develop veterinary diagnostic imaging in research, teaching, and patient care. The independent development of an internationally visible, interdisciplinary research program focusing on innovative diagnostic techniques is strived for. Of particular importance is the establishment of an interdisciplinary, internationally visible research programme along with the promotion of early-career researchers. Furthermore, the job holder is expected to collaborate with the facilities of the Vetmeduni as well as with related national and international institutions and practicing veterinarians. In teaching, the successful candidate contributes to the curricula of Vetmeduni, supervises theses, and participates in postgraduate scientific as well as clinical practical training. Another focus is the residency program of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). Furthermore, the duties of the position holder include third mission activities as well as contributions to the university self-administration and participation in university as well as national and international committees. Required education, qualifications and experience

• Completed studies in veterinary medicine
• Completed subject-related Doctorate / PhD or comparable scientific qualification
• Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) or Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR)
• Proof of interdisciplinary research activities in the relevant field and ability to network (e.g., demonstrated through national or international project cooperations with universities or research institutions)
• Outstanding, relevant publication track record
• Proof of successful acquisition of third-party funded research projects as Principal Investigator (PI)
• Demonstrable experience in the application, validation, and further development of state-of-the-art methods in the relevant subject area
• Didactic qualification or experience in teaching, supervision, and training of undergraduate and graduate students
• Technical expertise and several years of clinical practical experience in the veterinary application of imaging techniques
• Good command of English (B2)

Minimum salary
The minimum salary according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff is EUR 6,604.30 gross per month (14 times per year, 40 hours/week). A higher salary may be agreed to during the appointment negotiations. Applications

3. List of publications including specification of five key publications which the applicant considers particularly relevant to the advertised position
