The employment will be for five years with the possibility of further extension following successful evaluation.
This professorship is part of the BIH Program 'Personalized Medicine for Progressive Diseases’. Important conceptual contributions to the program are expected. Furthermore, the professorship is a central component of the translational research program for cystic fibrosis and other chronic lung diseases being established in the Department of Pediatric Pulmonology and Immunology and Cystic Fibrosis Center of the Charité. The research of the candidate should have translational potential. A publication record demonstrating high-impact research and a funding record are expected. Experience with initiation of third-party funded, interdisciplinary national and international research projects are desirable. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities at Charité, BIH, and MDC, supervise Master and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self-organization.
