Sunflower Breeder (m/f)

KWS SAAT SE is looking to recruit at the earliest opportunity on a permanent and full-time basis a Sunflower Breeder (m/f) based in Hungary or Germany. As a Breeder you will support our growing worldwide sunflower breeding activities in taking over responsibilities for parts of the breeding program. This is an excellent opportunity for a person motivated to contribute to a breeding program in an international framework

Your tasks:
  • Responsibility for parts of the growing worldwide sunflower breeding program
  • Supervision and instruction of the worldwide breeding teams carrying out breeding activities
  • Collaboration within an international team of breeders and technicians
  • Responsibility for planning and managing parts of the breeding program within the sunflower breeding activities in Hungary, France, Chile and Peru
  • Scientific support of research projects
  • Contribution to improvements of the sunflower breeding program

Your profile:
  • PhD or M.Sc. with focus on plant breeding
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in managing a commercial hybrid breeding program
  • Ability to work in an international team of breeders and research scientists
  • Ability to adapt work to the seasonal fluctuations in plant breeding
  • Ability to work in the field under the climatic conditions in summer and autumn
  • Ability to travel (Europe, South-America)
  • Experience in application of software in planning and analyzing of field trials and breeding nurseries
  • Good communication skills in English
