Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW is one of Switzerland’s main multidisciplinary universities of applied sciences, with over 12,000 students and 3,000 faculty and staff. The School of Life Sciences and Facility Management is located on an attractive setting in Wädenswil, which is situated on the Lake of Zurich.
The Institute of Applied Simulation IAS is focusing on predictive analysis and forecasting, selflearning systems and bio-inspired algorithms, process simulation and process optimization, biomedical simulations, applied computational genomics, data modelling and information exchange technologies.
To supplement our team, we have an opening for a

Research Associate or Postdoc Predictive Analytics

to start immediately or upon agreement. This full time position is funded by a CTI grant and limited to one year with the possibility to be renewed upon mutual agreement. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an applied research project in the domain of recommendation systems and online customer behaviour analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a related discipline (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Applied Statistics, etc.). Several years of academic and/or industrial experience with data analytics, signal processing, predictive modeling, data mining, etc. is an advantage. Matlab proficiency is a must, R/Python and/or experience with Spark is a plus. Good communication skills in English and German are required for your work in multidisciplinary teams.
