Nagra, the Swiss National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste, is responsible for planning and
implementing the safe disposal of radioactive waste generated in Switzerland. Nagra’s experience in the field of
radioactive waste management is also recognised abroad where it is applied in international programmes and
areas outside the nuclear field.
The International Services and Projects (ISP) Division was established in 1997 as an integral part of Nagra
and is responsible for projects with funding sources outside the Swiss national programme, as well as for the
Grimsel Test Site. The activities cover a wide spectrum – strategic programme planning, specification of waste
inventories, site selection, site characterisation and evaluation, repository design, safety case development,
safety analyses, public communication, training and know-how build-up. The geographic range of Nagra’s
activities extends from Europe to Asia and North America and is continuously expanding.
Due to the upcoming retirement of the current Division Head we are looking for a successor to assume the
position of
Division Head International Services and Projects (ISP)
In this key position, you are a member of the management team and will be responsible for the development
and delivery of state-of-the-art solutions for our partner organisations, effectively using the expertise
of the 15-member ISP team and all other in-house departments as well as that of our well-established
network of experts.
You are an experienced leader with an advanced degree in natural sciences or engineering. You have been
actively involved in the field of radioactive waste disposal for several years and, ideally, you have already
established contacts with implementing agencies across the globe, relevant research laboratories and/
or international organisations. You are a strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to acquire projects
and lead multidisciplinary teams and with proven social competence skills that enable you to master the
cultural specificities of international cooperation. You have a high degree of flexibility and are willing to
travel internationally.
Fluency in English, the working language of ISP, and German are essential.
