PhD scholarships

The German Research Foundation (DFG) - funded doctoral research program Graduiertenkolleg 2254 - "Heterogeneity and Evolution in Solid Tumors" (HEIST) headed by Prof. Dr. Thomas Seufferlein operates under the scientific umbrella of the International Graduate School Ulm (IGradU) at Ulm University.
Selected candidates will be part of a comprehensive teaching and research program involving more than 12 research projects, 20 Principal Investigators and 22 national and international PhD/MD students aiming at educating the next generation of scientists at Ulm University. Our well-equipped research laboratories will contribute to the in depth knowledge on basic molecular and cellular mechanisms of tumor heterogeneity, tumor evolution and aging while allowing designing novel and individualized therapeutic approaches for solid tumors. The title and a short abstract of the projects running can be found on the GRK2254/HEIST webpage (please see below). Successful candidates are expected to commence their work between August - September 2020.
The application package consists of the following documents:
1. Scans of certificates/diplomas (Bachelor and Master) including transcripts
2. Short resume
3. Motivation letter including the HEIST research group you intend to join
Should the certificates be issued in another language than German or English, please provide a translation in either of the languages. Since English is the Doctoral Program's language, proficient English skills are mandatory. Please note that incomplete application packages will not be taken into consideration.

Selected candidates are expected to give an oral presentation and take part to the interviews taking place during the "Selection Day" at the University of Ulm. Participation to the Selection Day is compulsory and will be held as video conference.
