»Family Business Culture and Ownership«
The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track to
a tenured W3 position (Associate Professor) or a tenured W3 position
(Associate or Full). The professorship is endowed by the EQUAFoundation.
Scientific Environment
With its strong research environment and close ties to industry, TUM
School of Management constantly scores well in rankings, currently
listed as the strongest German business school for research. The
school offers a dynamic scientific setting providing scholars with an
exceptional environment to educate responsible talents and pursue
relevant research at the intersection of management and
engineering. The professor will work closely and across campuses
with the Global Center for Family Enterprise.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the
promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in
the research area of enterprising families with a possible focus on
governance structures and the interplay between socio-emotional
wealth, familiness, and the specific characteristics of enterprising
families. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university's
bachelor's and master's programs. Tenured Faculty is welcome to
participate in our doctoral and executive education programs. A close
cooperation with the Global Center for Family Enterprise and Munich
Center for Technology in Society is envisioned.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with advanced scientific experience,
proven by achievements in research and teaching at the highest
international standards, according to the relevant career level. A
university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent
scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the
ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research
experience abroad is expected. The ability to initiate and lead
cooperative research projects, attract third party funding and
contribute to strategically building the Global Center for Family
Enterprise is expected. Furthermore, it is expected that there is
vibrant exchange between leaders of established family enterprises
within research projects to constantly test theory in practice to ensure
an active exchange between those two domains.

position as Associate Professor, and on to Full Professor. The
