Project Developer in Colour and Visual Computing
The Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) (http://www.ntnu.edu/idi) is expanding their research activity at the Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory (http://www.colourlab.no), particularly through intensifying its international project and networking activities. We therefore invite applications for a full-time 3-year project developer position, with possibility of renewal.
Information about the department
Currently IDI has 26 full professors, 6 adjunct professors, 37 associate professors, 15 adjunct associate professors, 19 assistant professors, 42 postdoctoral/researchers, approx. 100 active PhD students, and 22 technical/administrative staff.
The Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory is an internationally leading research group in the field of colour, image and video processing. The group has today 8 permanent staff members (4 professors, 3 associate professors, and 1 project manager), 6 post-doctoral researchers, 12 PhD students, and several other researchers, visiting researchers, etc. The group is coordinating and participating in a large number of research projects nationally and internationally. These projects include projects from the European Union as Marie Curie Initial Training Networks, national projects from the Norwegian Research Council, regional projects and industrial projects.
In order to extend our current project portfolio, we are looking for a Project Developer who will contribute to developing a long-term vision and roadmap for Colour and Visual Computing research; the group‘s EU positioning and research collaboration; and all stages of research proposal development. The successful applicant will work as part of a large multidisciplinary
team, with responsibility to organize focus areas, workshops with partners in Norway and abroad to increase the group‘s capacity and competency. Lead and assist in writing several proposals, and take an active role in the development of national and EU frameworks for research in Colour and Visual Computing and related fields. A generous budget for running costs will be made available for this activity. Depending on the success of the proposals, it will be expected that the candidate later take some role in managing funded projects. The candidate is also expected to be an active researcher within strategically important research areas, and to some extent contribute to other academic activities in the group (such as supervision of students).
Requirements of the applicants
We seek a talented, committed, and enthusiastic individual who has a good track record of procuring external funding and solid experience with international cooperation. A PhD in a relevant field is highly desired, although we do encourage motivated individuals who hold a
master‘s degree and have extensive experience in EU project development and management to apply. Knowledge of the H2020 programme and experience with EU applications is an advantage, as is experience in research in fields related to colour and visual computing. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, are a prerequisite. Emphasis will be placed on communicating and cooperating well with professionals from different communities.
Applicants who do not master a Scandinavian language must provide evidence of good English language skills, written and spoken. The following tests can be used as such documentation: TOEFL, IELTS and Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).
IELTS: 6.5, with no section lower than 5.5 (only Academic IELTS test accepted)
CAE/CPE: grade B or A
The successful candidate is expected to start the position as soon as possible.

Depending on qualifications and academic background, researchers holding a PhD degree, 1109 Researcher, will be remunerated at a minimum of NOK 490 500 per year before tax. Normal wage level is NOK 488 900 - 647 700, depending on qualifications. Researchers holding a master‘s degree, 1108 Researcher, will be remunerated at a minimum of NOK 414 800 per year before tax. Normal wage level is NOK 421 400-546 000, depending on qualifications. For exceptionally qualified candidates 1183 Research Professor may be considered. 2 % of the gross salary is deducted for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
The appointment is subject to the conditions in effect at any time for employees in the public sector. As far as possible, the State workforce should reflect the diversity of the population.
