Prerequisite is a Master's degree in political science, international law or a related subject, ex-perience with publications, high motivation for academic work, very good knowledge of English (German is an asset), and research experience in at least two of the following areas: (a) busi-ness and human rights, (b ) transnational governance, (c) international organizations (esp. UN), (d) qualitative research, (e) power and democracy on a global level, f) international law / human rights. A (nearly completed) doctorate is a strong asset.
The position starts on October 1st 2020. The salary and social benefits are determined in ac-cordance with salary group 13 of the German public service pay scheme (TVöD-Bund) with a working load of 85% (subject to funding). The position is limited to 14 months (remaining time of the project). An extension is expressly intended.
The Max Planck Society seeks to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages them to apply. Furthermore, the Max Planck Society is committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in its work-force and hence encourages applications from such qualified individuals.
Please send your application documents including a cover letter in which you outline your pos-sible contribution to the project, a curriculum vitae, certificates, and a reading sample (paper or book chapter, incl. manuscripts) preferably in the subject area of the project, exclusively by e-mail and preferably summarized into a single PDF file (plus reading sample in a separate file) by July 19th 2020 to: email@example.com. The interviews will take place during July / August, if necessary via video conference.
