RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessment of toxicological, ecotoxicological and physico-chemical data to determine the hazard and risk of chemicals and products; gap analyses and development of risk assessment strategies, including non-animal approaches like QSAR and read-across; commissioning and monitoring of experimental studies when needed
- Group leadership Hazard & Risk Management, as well as responsibility for Chemicals Management, comprising the chemicals strategy and voluntary commitments of the company
- Assessment of the safety of workers, consumers, customers and the environment. Classification and labelling of substances and mixtures according to regulatory requirements (mainly EU CLP regulation)
- Preparation of registration dossiers according to international legislation like REACH or TSCA
- Professional representation of the company towards authorities and national and international committees, consortia and associations regarding substance-specific and general regulatory issues
- Communication of hazard and risk issues internally
- Being part of the Product Stewardship leadership team, you will also fulfill several other leadership tasks for the department. This includes depute tasks for other team members, contribution to the strategy and planning of the department, budget and resource monitoring, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully completed studies of toxicology, biology, veterinary medicine, pharmacology, food chemistry, chemistry or related areas
- At least ten years of profound professional experience in the area of interest and specific qualification and experience in the area of toxicology (mandatory, usually ERT or DABT)
- Profound leadership experience; ability to deal with highly complex and challenging situations
- Outstanding skills in communication and teamwork
- Very good knowledge in MS office applications and software dedicated to toxicology – IUCLID and other software for exposure assessment, identification of toxicological, ecotoxicological and physico-chemical information
- Very good knowledge of German and English language (fluent in word and writing)
