Value and job creation of hydrogen and natural gas infrastructures in Germany and France
Context Hydrogen is on the verge of becoming an alternative to traditional fuels and batteries. One of the
biggest hurdles is the production of low GHG hydrogen at competitive prices. Other sources of value
creation, like regional job creation, can help to convince authorities and investors in developing
hydrogen projects. The intern will work with the hydrogen and the value creation team, helping them
understand the value creation, and especially job creation, effects of hydrogen infrastructures in
comparison to existing natural gas infrastructures. The analysis of existing hydrogen projects in
Germany are the basis of a comparison with potential projects in France.
The assigned tasks involve
Comparison of the value creation of the natural gas sector and the hydrogen sector
Development of a methodology for calculating the number of jobs created by hydrogen
Creation of a data collection protocol
Expert interviews in France and in Germany (and in third countries if beneficial)
Student of renewable and sustainable economics (or related fields)
Knowledge of the hydrogen and natural gas sector is a plus
Fluent in English and German (French would also be an asset)
