to begin as soon as possible. The position is a tenured W3 position and will be co-funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung. The professorship will be filled complementary to the open position of Full Professor in “Clinical Nutritional Medicine”. Both professorships will become part of the TUM Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Nutritional Medicine (EKFZ).

Scientific environment
The professorship is assigned to the the TUM School of Life Sciences and is anchored in the EKFZ. By filling the professorship in “Clinical Nutritional Medicine” and the professorship in “Translational Nutritional Medicine”, TUM is pursuing the strategic goal of further strength-ening its nutritional expertise and expanding the EKFZ. Cooperations with the German Centers for Health Research at the Munich site, a wide range of Collaborative Research Centers, most relevant CRC 1371: Microbiome Signatures, close cooperations with experts in the natural sciences, data sciences and engineering sciences schools at TUM as well as with the experts in prevention and health research at the TUM Olympiapark site provide an ideal basis for excellent research.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. To strengthen our expertise in nutritional medicine, the professorship in “Clinical Nutritional Medicine” and the professorship in “Translational Nutritional Medicine” will be filled with experts with complementary research foci, complementing the existing scientific expertise at TUM. The professorships should focus on the development and evaluation of nutritional prevention and treatment strategies to combat nutrition-related, chronic diseases that affect the cardiovascular system, endocrinology and metabolism, gastroenterology, oncology, the immune system, or the nervous system, as well as to combat malnutrition.
Teaching responsibilities include participation in TUM's Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, especially in the required and elective modules of the Bachelor degree program Life Sciences Nutrition and the Master degree program Nutrition and Biomedicine, as well as in the human medical study program.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with an exceptional international research and teaching reputation and an established academic record through an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad and the proven ability in developing, acquiring and managing competitive, strategic research projects and collaborative research projects are expected.
Successful applicants are characterized by their strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborations at TUM, in particular at the EKFZ and to participate in joint research collaborations.
